Swat area is calculated as 6436 sq.km with a large population of 1.7 million people. It is a backward area with extremely poor people. According to a report from Malakand Rural support 72% people are living under the poverty line. The people of Swat depend mostly upon the agriculture and tourism. Here the people have been flourished with a moderate temperature due to cool water, flowing rivers, melodious waterfall, chirping birds, the sweet smell of flowers and fresh fruits. So the people have been enjoying a peaceful environment for centuries. The people of Swat are simple, hospitable and more educated in the Province of Khyber Pukhtoon khwa (Pakistan). Since 2007 due to uncertainty and chaos, not only the business, agriculture and tourism have been badly affected but the life and property even the honor and self respect were not protected. In this case million of people had lost their lives. So their life time earnings and their own houses had changed into the piles of ashes. In such a critical situation some of the young fellows had decided to work out an NGO named “Parwarish”. They determined to serve the calamity stricken masses of swat. The first phase of this planning was to provide shelter and educate the orphans. This project is a glimmer of hope for such depressed and oppressed people. It will be promoted and improved continuously through the co-operation of well-off and generous people.

The survey was conducted in 25 Union Councils out of 65 union councils in Swat. Survey report contains 2213 orphans.

Among these orphans 45 are selected for admission in “Parwarish”.
